Disco Sonic, the lead title of the release, takes its inspiration from dystopian visions of clubs run by machines and robots — except here, the operator behind the decks is human. Not by accident, but by intent: a deliberate push to compose and express something machines simply aren't capable of. The result is a pure sci-fi dive into the raw, filtered, analog-driven sound of early-2000s Den Haag electro disco — robotic on the surface, but with a human pulse underneath.

Built on tense, driving electro programming, System Shock sets the tone for the EP's central idea: rhythms and textures that sound like they were built by machines, but driven by a very human hand pushing them toward breakdown.

System Shock (Heinrich Dressel Remix) reimagines the original through a more cinematic lens. Where System Shock builds tension through mechanical drive, Dressel's version stretches that tension across a wider, more atmospheric canvas — a darker, more widescreen take that reframes the track's core idea as something closer to a scene than a club cut.
About the release
Sonic Trauma is Kalson's latest dispatch for Lametta Records — a three-track release built on the friction between human craft and machine logic. At its core sit two original tracks, System Shock and Disco Sonic, linked via a shared current of mad, machine-forged sonics: distorted sequences, analog grit, and rhythms that feel assembled rather than played. Closing out the release, Italian producer Heinrich Dressel reworks System Shock into a more cinematic, widescreen variation, pulling the original version's tension into darker, more atmospheric territory. Recorded across Serbia and Italy in 2026, Sonic Trauma sits at the point where electro feels most mechanical and most human at the same time.
